In 2010, Vitesse Dallas of the Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL-Premier) was one game away from playing in the 2nd US Open Arena Soccer Championship after having knocked off two professional clubs: the Texas Outlaws and Denver Dynamite before falling to the San Diego Sockers (current reigning champions) by a score of 11-7. Just two years later, Vitesse finds themselves in a very similar situation. This time the only thing between them and another shot at the Sockers, is this Friday's 8:30PM match at Game Time Training Center against the host Cincinnati Kings.
Vitesse Dallas has been gaining more experience as the PASL Premier South Central Division title holders for the last five years running, but will be bringing their youngest squad assembled to date with the exception of notable core players; Lupe Rodriguez (Puebla of the Mexican Primera A / 2010 Mexican Indoor National Team, Dominic Schell (formerly with MLS's Columbus Crew), Mario Torres (FC Dallas Reserve), Albert Rodriguez (FC Dallas Reserve), Vassar Cates (formerly with MISL's Dallas Sidekicks), Raul Herrera ( Santos Laguna of the Mexican 2nd Division ), and Coach Roy " Magic " Ramos (previously with the USISL's Texas Lightning & Texas Toros / MLS' Dallas Burn Reserve ).
" The team is excited about this match, there is much excitement of traveling and playing an established franchise like Cincinnati. We look to open many eyes this Friday when we step on the turf, hopefully the outcome will be in our favor. Our players, fans, and even myself the coach are ready to step it up to the next level. Hopefully with a win this Friday we can open many eyes. No matter what the outcome I am proud of the squad the organization has put together on the pitch this year " - Coach Ramos.
