The host OTW Santa Clara had the only unbeaten record in the event. They will face Southern Colorado in one of the semi-finals. Stockton will play Chico in the other. Chico knocked off the tournament’s top seed Turlock in the quarterfinals 8-5. In the women’s competition old rivals OTW Santa Clara will play Chico in the women’s final.
The future of the PASL Pro Division had the game of the day as the Stockton Pumas and Southern Colorado Stars played to a 4-4 tie in group play. Colorado had a 3-1 lead until the Pumas/Cougars star Majell Aterado hit a pair of rockets to tie the game. Justin Dzuba was the star of the match for Colorado making several big saves. It was great for Stars who are the development team of the new PASL-Pro team in Denver. It proved they are ready to step into the pro ranks playing even with the Pumas, who have several players from last year’s Cougars team and the recently formed US National team.
