Alamo SC San Antonio Edges Monterrey Tech
12/21/08 - The environment was great for such a special occasion. Over 200 fans came out to Aztec Indoor Soccer Arena and the atmosphere was boisterous.

Alamo SC San Antonio of PASL-Premier brought in Monterrey Tech, the Mexican National Collegiate Champions for a challenge match. Alamo prevailed in a tight game 6-5 with Alamo goals scored by Balta Hana (2), Lance Key, Ben Lonely, Robbie DeBaca, and Silas Blackwell. Monterrey goals were scored by Gerardo Montemayor (2), Jorge Hazouri, Rorigo Mena, Max Aguiar.

Alamo led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, 3-2 at halftime and 5-3 at the end of the third quarter. Typifying the festive comraderie between the teams, a ceremonial tequila shot between Monterrey Coach Ricardo Escamilla, Aztec Indoor Soccer Arena owner, Gabe Munoz, and Alamo Coach Lance Noble preceded the kick off.

Monterrey was presented with a signed ball and a shirt. Both teams stayed on the field for 10-15 minutes after the game was over to sign autographs and fans gobbled up many giveaways including a Mexico flag soccer ball at halftime.

Alamo SC is also a member of the National Premier Soccer League.  They have won their first two PASL-Premier games this year by a combined 43-8.
