Denver Dragons FC Captures Third Straight Rocky Mountain Division Title

2/6/09 - With an 11-10 victory over division rival Golden Strikers on Sunday the Denver Dragons FC captured their third straight Rocky Mountain Division Title.

Dragons FC will be playing in their third straight division playoffs this upcoming month in the PASL-Premier Rocky Mountain Division.

In the 2007/2008 PASL Winter and Summer Leagues the Denver Dragons FC finished with the best overall record in the Rocky Mountain Division.

In his second year for the Dragons FC, Managing Director Alex Monnar with a record in three seasons of 23-2-0 has put together a squad that is still in contention for the best overall record in 2009. Dragons FC currently is ranked number one in the PASL-Premier Division (www.arenaleague.com), which has 51 teams. The Dragons FC and Ft. Collins Fury will meet up in the season finale on February 14th at Parker Field House at 9:30pm.

The victory over the Strikers guarantees the Dragons FC home field advantage throughout the playoffs. In the Rocky Mountain Division the playoffs are the top four teams in the division, which the number one seed plays the number four seed and the number 2 seed plays the number 3 seed. Thus making it possible for only one team from the division to compete in this years 2009 Winter PASL Nationals, which will be played on March 6-7, in Las Vegas.
