3/24/10 - Revolucion Tijuana will host an All-Star Weekend March 26-28 at Furati Arena. The events will include clinics, a skills competition and finally the All-Star Game on Sunday at 4:30pm.
While not an official PASL-Pro All-Star Game, the weekend will serve to build momentum for Revolucion’s full-time move to the league in November. Participants will largely consist of players from the newly crowned champion San Diego Sockers, last year’s champions, the California Cougars, the expansion Los Angeles Bolts, and Tijuana’s own players.
On Friday, March 26 players will give an assembly as part of their Play Fair public service campaign. On Saturday, the players will give a clinic at Furati followed by the skills competition at 5:30. Sunday will be the big game.
The format of the All-Star Game will be Latinos vs. The Rest of the World. Tijuana’s Diego Terry will coach the Latinos, while Sockers Head Coach Phil Salvagio will coach the opposition.
Some of the prominent names include Paul Wright and Kraig Chiles (San Diego), Eduardo Velez (Tijuana), Bernie Lilavois (Los Angeles), and Enrique Tovar and Nelson Santana (California).
"After a competitive season, hopefully the players can have fun this weekend," said PASL-Pro Commissioner Kevin Milliken, "but these guys are all division rivals so you don’t know what might happen once the whistle blows."
The All-Star Game will be streamed lived on the Internet at http://www.livestream.com/escooltv.
The 2009-10 PASL-Pro season will officially end on April 10 when the Sockers travel to Louisville for the championship of the US Open, but teams are already gearing up for the 2010-11 season.
